How it works
- Tap Add route. Pick your From and To stations and your usual departure, then tap Continue.
- Pick the days you travel, when to start checking and which alerts you want, then tap Save route.
- That is all. gowhistle watches the train and tells you about delays, cancellations and platform changes. An on-time train stays silent.
Not getting notifications?
- Allow notifications for gowhistle when the app asks. If you said no, open your phone's Settings, then Apps, gowhistle, Notifications, and switch them on, including Train alerts.
- In the app, check that Notifications is on at the top of the Routes screen, and that the route is not paused.
- Open the route and check its alerts: Delay alerts, Cancellation alerts and Platform change alerts. Delays only alert from the time set in Delay alerts from (5 minutes unless you change it).
- If alerts arrive late, open Settings, then Apps, gowhistle, Battery, and choose Unrestricted. The names vary a little between phones.
When do you check my train?
Every 30 minutes from 2 hours before it leaves, every 5 minutes in the last hour and every 2 minutes in the last 15 minutes. You can start checking earlier or later on each route. With night-before alerts on, we also check at 21:00 and 23:00 the evening before. Open a route to see its watch timeline.
